UPPER WIND RIVER CANYON

This trip begins with scenery that is simply amazing, a cottonwood forest on one side of the river and incredible views of rugged peaks on the other. However, the calm changes quickly as the river begins to pick up speed, here come the rapids! 1st Damn Rapid, The Tunnels, Black Coal and Sharpnose, (both of these are named after famous chiefs of the Northern Arapaho Tribe) and don’t forget about, Sphincter and Pink Canyon, both of which will soak the entire boat! The trip finishes with a relaxing portion of the float allowing you to enjoy the unparalleled scenery of the Upper Wind River Canyon, take in the soaring cliffs, high plains desert and alpine scenery along with incredible geological formations. Beginners/first time river rafters welcome on this trip. Degree of difficulty: depends on conditions, overall - Moderate.

LOWER WIND RIVER CANYON

With the biggest rapid on this trip being named after the famous Shoshone Chief, Washakie, this trip has numerous rapids and is our most popular trip! Look for Bighorn sheep and enjoy the sheer beauty of the Wind River Canyon's towering cliffs and vistas, then look out, here come the churning rapids such as Reverend Pugh, Chimney Rock, Glassy Wave, Lone Bear, Freight Train, Washakie Falls, and End of the Trail. We promise you will get soaked! Beginners/first time river rafters welcome on this trip. Degree of difficulty: depends on conditions, overall - Moderate.

FULL WIND RIVER CANYON/LUNCH TRIP

Want to enjoy the full Wind River Canyon, run all the rapids, enjoy all the beauty and serenity of the calm sections that allow you to relax and take it all in… AND have a freshly prepared incredible riverside BBQ lunch? Yes you can have it all! Schedule your group for the Full Canyon Lunch trip. 

After working up an appetite on the Upper Canyon Adventure, take a lunch break at the Tipi campsite WRCW& F has been setting up each year for 29 years! Relax with a cold beverage while your guide(s) work on preparing a fabulous BBQ Lunch. The menu is guides choice each day and consists of either grilled steak sandwiches or grilled chicken breast sandwiches, along with tasty side dishes such as BBQ beans, salad, fruit, dessert, and drinks (lunch menu & specific items vary daily). Vegetarian diets can be accommodated upon request. Beginners/first time river rafters welcome on this trip. Degree of difficulty: depends on conditions, overall - Moderate.

SCENIC WIND RIVER CANYON FLOAT TRIP

Early Morning & Evening (8am and 6pm departure) WR Canyon Scenic Trip: Enjoy the beauty and splendor of the Wind River Canyon without getting soaking wet in the rapids. View the soaring cliffs, alpine scenery, and have the best chance to enjoy wildlife viewing for animals such as Mule Deer, Elk, Big Horn Sheep, water fowl, Beaver, Mink, Muskrat, and other animals. This trip is offered in the early mornings only departing our shop @ 8 am.  *** Beginners/first-time river rafters welcome on this trip. Degree of difficulty: - Moderate.

We strongly encourage participants to consider the following: must have good fitting shoes, and a minimal level of physical fitness for this trip as it involves a short hike down a steep path at the put in and a brief hike up a steep path at the take out.

DEPOSITS, CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

When making a reservation for a whitewater or scenic river trip, a deposit of 50% of the total trip cost is due.

If the rafting company cancels a trip, refunds will be given. We reserve the right to cancel trips due to too high or too low water levels, inclement weather conditions or not enough clients. Cancellation (by the client) with less than 14 days notice prior to the date of the trip results in forfeiture of deposit.

Note: As with our regular trips, groups of 10 or more persons must cancel with 14 days advance notice to receive a refund of their deposit. Cancellation with less than 14 days for a group of 10 persons or more results in forfeiture of deposit. While we realize your number of participants may change, we ask that you kindly keep us informed of the number of people in your group.

Although every precaution is taken to safeguard you and your belongings, river trips by their nature involve a certain amount of risk. Wind River Canyon Whitewater and their personnel and cooperating agencies* assume no responsibility whatsoever for injuries, damages, losses or delays to person or property. We recommend the purchase of an inexpensive travel insurance plan including accident coverage.
